Bibisara Assaubayeva emerged victorious in the rapid tournament at the European qualifier for the WR Women's Chess Tour Finals held in St Tropez. She defeated Mariya Muzychuk 2-0 in the final match, solidifying her position for the upcoming Grand Final in Stuttgart.

Assaubayeva's path to victory included tense Armageddon deciders against Nino Batsiashvili in the semifinals and Elisabeth Paehtz in the quarterfinals. In the final, she showcased her skills by winning both games decisively against Muzychuk, who had previously advanced by defeating Eline Roebers and Humpy Koneru.

The tournament is part of a new international series featuring knockout events across four continents, with the Grand Final scheduled for November 22-23, where eight players will compete for a total prize fund of $40,000.
