Bijan Robinson Becomes Highest-Paid Running Back in NFL History
Bijan Robinson has secured a three-year, $75 million contract extension with the Atlanta Falcons, establishing him as the highest-paid running back in NFL history. This agreement was reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday.
The deal includes a record $51 million guaranteed, with $37 million payable at signing. Robinson, who is 24 years old, was set to enter the final year of his rookie contract, but the Falcons opted to extend his contract ahead of his fourth season.
In his first three seasons with the Falcons, Robinson has amassed 5,648 yards from scrimmage and scored 34 touchdowns. He achieved first-team All-Pro status last season after rushing for a career-high 1,478 yards and contributing an additional 820 yards receiving. Following Robinson's extension, attention now shifts to the Detroit Lions and their negotiations with Jahmyr Gibbs, with Lions coach Dan Campbell suggesting that Robinson's deal could positively influence their discussions.
