Bills Transition to Grass Field Receives Mixed Feedback
The Buffalo Bills have made the switch from artificial turf to grass at their new Highmark Stadium, a change that has elicited mixed reactions from players during the preseason opener against the Panthers.
Concerns were raised about the grass quality, with one player describing it as poor and noting that a play resulted in a significant amount of grass being dislodged. Four players, including quarterback Josh Allen, attempted to fix the issue by stomping the grass back into place. Another player remarked that while the field felt soft, it was not in a favorable way.
Despite the criticisms, linebacker Dorian Williams acknowledged that the grass looked good overall and preferred it over turf, although he noted some areas were problematic. The aim remains to achieve high-quality grass that performs well and goes unnoticed during play.
