Billy Gunn Reflects on Joining The Acclaimed in AEW
Billy Gunn recently shared insights into his collaboration with Anthony Bowens and Max Caster as part of The Acclaimed in AEW. Initially, the pairing seemed unconventional, but as the storyline progressed, Gunn embraced his Attitude Era persona, becoming known as 'Daddy A**' and contributing to the group's rising popularity among fans.
During an appearance on Inside the Ropes, Gunn noted that his involvement brought attention to the duo, asserting that his presence helped legitimize their act. He recalled their memorable entrance, which featured Caster rapping and Bowens engaging with the crowd, culminating in their signature 'scissor' taunt that fans eventually embraced.
In recent times, Gunn has reduced his in-ring appearances, with his last match for AEW occurring in January on AEW Collision. Meanwhile, both Caster and Bowens have left AEW, with Caster facing controversy after a debut in TNA, which led to his release due to the content of his pre-match rap. Following this, he announced a hiatus from wrestling.
