Billy Quarantillo Moves Up to Lightweight for UFC Fight Night
Billy Quarantillo, a seasoned mixed martial artist with six UFC victories, is preparing for his 12th bout in the organization, transitioning to the lightweight division. This marks his first fight at 155 pounds since 2018, as he aims to alleviate the stress of weight cutting that accompanied his previous featherweight fights.
Quarantillo's journey to the UFC has been challenging, including a stint on The Ultimate Fighter in 2015, which did not lead to an immediate contract. After gaining experience on the regional circuit, he secured a spot on Dana White's Contender Series, where he earned his UFC opportunity. He has since fought 11 times in the Octagon, showcasing his resilience and determination.
Now a family man, Quarantillo's motivations have shifted from personal ambition to providing for his wife and children. He also runs a gym, Gracie PAC, in Tampa, Florida, where he mentors young fighters. Quarantillo is set to face fellow veteran Diego Ferreira in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Gamrot vs Salkilld, promising an exciting matchup between two experienced fighters.
