Bishworjit Konthoujam's Journey from Boxing to Cricket Success

Bishworjit Konthoujam, a fast bowler from Manipur, made headlines during the Duleep Trophy quarterfinal against East Zone, where he dismissed 15-year-old batting talent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. This moment marked a significant point in Konthoujam's cricketing journey, which began unexpectedly after he initially pursued boxing.

Before embracing cricket, Konthoujam was a dedicated boxer, earning accolades at various levels. His passion for cricket was evident, as he often sought opportunities to bowl during local matches. Since his debut in first-class cricket in 2018, Konthoujam has established himself as a leading wicket-taker, amassing 147 wickets in 48 matches. His journey has also included representing Manipur in various tournaments and becoming the first cricketer from his state to play for an English club.
