Blake Betton Transfers Commitment from Penn State to Wisconsin

Penn State's 2027 recruiting class has faced another setback as Blake Betton, a former three-star linebacker commit, has announced his switch to Wisconsin. Betton, who initially committed to Penn State in April 2026, made the announcement on Sunday.

The linebacker from Shakopee, Minnesota, is ranked as the No. 4 player in his state, the No. 35 linebacker in the Class of 2027, and No. 466 nationally according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He had visited Penn State on October 10, coinciding with their loss to USC.

Betton holds offers from several other Big Ten schools, including Illinois, Iowa, and Michigan. His departure follows that of another recruit, quarterback Will Wood, who also left the Nittany Lions for Boston College. Despite these changes, Penn State still has 20 commitments in the 2027 class, including linebacker Case Alexander, who is ranked slightly higher than Betton.
