Blake Dunn to Miss Remainder of Season Following Elbow Surgery

Cincinnati Reds outfielder Blake Dunn will not return for the remainder of the season due to an elbow surgery scheduled for August 7. Manager Terry Francona confirmed that Dunn is already on the 15-day injured list and will be moved to the 60-day IL as needed to accommodate roster changes.

Dunn, 27, has been a depth player for the Reds since joining the team in June 2024, appearing in 87 games with a batting average of .232. He has contributed defensively with seven Defensive Runs Saved and four Outs Above Average across various outfield positions.

With Dunn's surgery, he is expected to miss six months, potentially returning in time for Spring Training 2027. The Reds will continue with their current outfield lineup, which includes JJ Bleday, Dane Myers, TJ Friedl, Noelvi Marté, and Ivan Johnson, as they navigate the remainder of the season.
