Blue Jays Announce Pitching Rotation for Series Against Guardians
The Toronto Blue Jays have finalized their pitching rotation for an upcoming series against the Cleveland Guardians. Spencer Arrighetti is set to start the opener on Tuesday, facing off against Gavin Williams.
Dylan Cease will pitch on Wednesday against Joey Cantillo, followed by José Soriano in the finale against Tanner Bibee on Thursday. Arrighetti has faced challenges in his initial outings, holding an 0-2 record and a 7.36 ERA over 7.1 innings. In contrast, Cease recently delivered a strong performance, allowing only one run in six innings against Seattle, while Soriano struck out six batters over seven innings despite giving up three runs.
The Guardians, who recently experienced a two-game losing streak against the Kansas City Royals, are currently two games above .500. This situation has allowed the Blue Jays and the Baltimore Orioles to close the gap in the standings. Toronto is now 1.5 games behind Cleveland after a comeback win over the Mariners, while the Orioles are just one game back following their victory against the Athletics. The Blue Jays hold a 2-1 record against the Guardians this season after their earlier series in April.
