Blue Jays Assign Daz Cameron to Triple-A
The Toronto Blue Jays have outrighted outfielder Daz Cameron to Triple-A after he cleared waivers. This decision came after Cameron was designated for assignment earlier in the week.
Cameron has the option to reject the assignment and pursue free agency, but he is expected to remain with the Buffalo Bisons, awaiting another opportunity with the major league team. He has spent most of the season with Toronto's top minor league affiliate since returning to the U.S.
The roster changes were prompted by the activation of reliever Joe Mantiply from the 60-day injured list, which required a move on the 40-man roster. Cameron joined the Blue Jays on a minor league contract in July and had limited success in the majors, recording five hits in 24 at-bats over eight games.
