In the game, Charles McAdoo, Ernie Clement, and Myles Straw also contributed RBIs for Toronto. Chase Lee earned the win after allowing one hit and two walks over 1 2/3 innings, while Spencer Miles secured his first career save despite a double in the ninth inning.

The Red Sox, who have now lost four consecutive games, saw Wilyer Abreu and Ceddanne Rafaela hit solo home runs. Boston managed to score a run in the third inning, but Toronto tied the game in the bottom of the same inning. The Blue Jays took the lead in the sixth and added an insurance run in the eighth, while Boston reinstated catcher Adley Rutschman, who went 1-for-3 with two walks.
