Blue Jays Make Bullpen Changes Ahead of Mariners Series
The Toronto Blue Jays have announced changes to their bullpen prior to a weekend series against the Seattle Mariners. Right-hander CJ Van Eyk has been brought up from triple-A Buffalo and will participate in Friday's game.
In a corresponding move, the team has designated fellow right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson for assignment. Van Eyk, who was selected by the Blue Jays in the second round of the 2020 draft, has made three appearances for Toronto this season, giving up three earned runs over 11.2 innings. Woods Richardson, who returned to the Blue Jays in a trade with the Minnesota Twins in June, recorded a 3.93 ERA in eight games this year, totaling 18.1 innings pitched.
