Blue Jays Make Roster Changes, Designate Daz Cameron for Assignment

The Toronto Blue Jays have made several roster changes as they expand their active roster from 26 to 28 players. Among the moves, they recalled left-hander Ricky Tiedemann and infielder Sean Keys from Triple-A Buffalo, and reinstated left-hander Joe Mantiply and infielder Josh Smith from the injured list.

To accommodate these additions, the team optioned right-hander CJ Van Eyk to Triple-A and designated outfielder Daz Cameron for assignment. Cameron, who joined the Jays recently due to an injury to Vladimir Guerrero Jr., played eight games and recorded a .208 batting average with one home run.

Cameron has exhausted his option seasons, preventing the Jays from sending him down. He will be placed on waivers, and if he clears, he can elect free agency due to his previous outright status. Meanwhile, Mantiply returns to the bullpen after a solid performance earlier in the season, and right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson, who cleared waivers, is now a free agent.
