Blue Jays Place Jameson Taillon on Injured List Due to Forearm Tendinitis
The Toronto Blue Jays have placed right-handed pitcher Jameson Taillon on the 15-day injured list due to right forearm tendinitis. This announcement comes shortly after Taillon's acquisition from the Chicago Cubs just over a week ago.
In his second start since joining the team, Taillon exited after four innings, experiencing a drop in velocity and discomfort in his forearm. While the severity of his injury remains unclear, it is anticipated that he will be sidelined for at least a couple of weeks. The Blue Jays have recalled fellow right-hander Chase Lee to fill the roster spot left vacant by Taillon.
With Taillon's injury, the Blue Jays face a challenge in their starting rotation. They had planned to utilize a six-man rotation but have been forced to adjust due to injuries to other pitchers. Simeon Woods Richardson, who recently returned to the roster, stepped in to provide relief after Taillon's departure. The team is currently 3.5 games behind a playoff spot in the American League.
