Blue Jays Place Trey Yesavage on Injured List Due to Knee Inflammation
The Toronto Blue Jays have announced that pitcher Trey Yesavage has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to inflammation in his left knee. This decision was made shortly after the team adjusted to a six-man rotation.
Yesavage left the game against the Houston Astros on Tuesday after experiencing discomfort while warming up for the third inning. He attempted a test pitch but indicated he could not continue. Following the game, an MRI revealed the need for an extended period on the injured list for the rookie.
This season, Yesavage has recorded a 3.73 ERA with 91 strikeouts over 91.2 innings. In response to his injury, the Blue Jays recalled right-handed pitchers Lazaro Estrada and Chase Lee from triple-A Buffalo, while Chad Dallas was sent down to the minors.
