Blue Jays Place Trey Yesavage on Injured List Due to Knee Inflammation
The Toronto Blue Jays have announced that right-handed pitcher Trey Yesavage has been placed on the 15-day injured list because of left knee inflammation. This decision follows his early departure during a game against the Houston Astros, where he pitched only two innings before being removed due to discomfort.
Yesavage's injury was assessed after he experienced issues while warming up for the third inning. Following his exit, Chad Dallas took over on the mound but struggled, allowing six earned runs in three innings. Manager John Schneider indicated that Yesavage would undergo an MRI, with results still pending, and it is anticipated that he will be sidelined for at least a couple of weeks.
This marks Yesavage's second stint on the injured list this season, having previously missed time due to a shoulder impingement. The Blue Jays have faced significant rotation injuries this year, losing other key pitchers to various ailments. Despite these challenges, the team has made trades to adjust their roster, focusing on future prospects while still competing in the current season.
