Blue Jays Prospects McAdoo and Messina Recognized as Players of the Week

Toronto Blue Jays prospects Charles McAdoo and Carson Messina received minor-league player of the week honors on Monday, highlighting their impressive performances in the Jays system.

McAdoo, 24, earned the International League player of the week title after hitting four home runs and achieving a batting average of .464 with 13 hits in 28 at-bats. He has primarily played for the triple-A Buffalo Bisons this season, where he has a .269 batting average, 16 home runs, and 57 RBIs over 89 games. McAdoo made his MLB debut in May, playing eight games for the Blue Jays.

Messina, the Blue Jays' No. 27 prospect, was named the Florida State League pitcher of the week after delivering five no-hit innings for single-A Dunedin. The 20-year-old has a 1.69 ERA in the Florida Complex League and a 3.26 ERA in ten starts with Dunedin. He has recorded 33 strikeouts in 30.1 innings this season.
