BMW Transforms into WEC Title Contender with Strong Performance

BMW has made notable progress in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) during its third year in the Hypercar program, moving from a single podium finish in 2025 to winning two races in the first half of 2026.

Currently, Robin Frijns and Rene Rast lead the Hypercar standings, while BMW ranks second among manufacturers, trailing only Toyota. This marks a significant improvement from the previous season when BMW finished fifth with 87 points, compared to the 127 points it has already accumulated this year after four races.

To enhance performance, BMW implemented a new aerodynamic package aimed at improving cooling efficiency and predictability. The team also consolidated operations under WRT, which expanded its presence in North America. BMW's recent victories include wins at Spa-Francorchamps and Sao Paulo, showcasing the effectiveness of their strategies and car improvements.
