Bo Horvat Named 16th Captain of the New York Islanders
Bo Horvat has been named the 16th captain in the history of the New York Islanders, as announced by the team on Monday.
Horvat, who joined the Islanders in January 2023 and signed an eight-year contract shortly thereafter, has shown strong performance with 31 goals in 68 games last season, contributing to his back-to-back seasons of 57 points.
He previously served as captain for the Vancouver Canucks before his trade to the Islanders. The team sought a new captain after Anders Lee signed with the Utah Mammoth during the off-season.
