Bolton Wanderers' Manager Sticks to Strategy Despite Heavy Loss
Bolton Wanderers' manager Steven Schumacher has stated that he will not alter his team's strategy after their significant 5-1 loss to Middlesbrough last Friday. This defeat marked the first time this season that his team was thoroughly outplayed in a league match.
Despite the setback, Schumacher emphasized his commitment to the same tactical approach that led to the team's promotion via the play-offs in May. He noted that the disparity in player quality contributed to the loss, with Middlesbrough's starting eleven valued at £45 million compared to Bolton's £1.7 million.
Bolton is set to face Bristol City at home on Saturday, followed by two away matches against Charlton Athletic and Derby County within six days. Schumacher mentioned that while the upcoming games will be challenging, a positive result against Bristol City could boost the team's confidence. He also confirmed that Chris Forino-Joseph is fit to play, but Ryan Hardie and John McAtee will be unavailable due to injuries.
