Bowman Gray Stadium to Host NASCAR Truck Race in 2027
Bowman Gray Stadium in North Carolina is set to host a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on August 20, 2027. This event will mark the first points-paying NASCAR national series race at the venue since 1971.
The historic short track has previously hosted the pre-season Clash exhibition race for the NASCAR Cup Series, but the Trucks will be making their debut at this 0.250-mile track. Due to the track's size, it is anticipated that heat races may be used to determine the starting lineup for the main event.
Clay Campbell, president of Martinsville Speedway and vice president of NASCAR Mid-Atlantic, expressed excitement about the event, highlighting the stadium's legacy of thrilling racing and passionate fans. The announcement was celebrated with Rajah Caruth performing burnouts in a NASCAR truck at the venue.
