Boxing Federation of India Units Unite Against President Ajay Singh
In New Delhi, members of the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) gathered to demonstrate their collective opposition to President Ajay Singh. This meeting included representatives from 27 of the 35 affiliated units and 8 of the 13 executive committee members.
The assembly was intended to be a Special General Meeting (SGM) to discuss a vote of no-confidence against Singh. However, the Punjab and Haryana High Court intervened, postponing the meeting until November 13. Despite this setback, the members voiced their grievances regarding Singh's leadership, alleging administrative failures and a lack of adherence to the federation's constitution.
Key figures such as BFI secretary general Pramod Kumar and vice-president Rajesh Bhandari highlighted issues including the suspension of officials who question Singh's authority. The ongoing turmoil within the BFI has persisted for three years, with calls for reform and accountability continuing to grow.
