Brandon Bussi Brings Stanley Cup to Long Island
Brandon Bussi, a goaltender for the Hurricanes and a Long Island native, brought the Stanley Cup to the Rinx ice facility in Hauppauge on Wednesday, creating a festive atmosphere among local hockey fans.
Upon arrival, Bussi immediately headed to the north rink, where he first skated as a child, sharing the moment with young fans gathered around him. The event attracted a large crowd, with supporters wearing jerseys from the Islanders, Rangers, and Hurricanes, all eager to catch a glimpse of the Cup.
Tom Palamara, owner of the Rinx and a long-time figure in hockey, reflected on the significance of the event, noting his history in the sport and his recent appointment as president of the New York State Amateur Hockey Association. Although not all fans could enter the facility, Bussi made an effort to walk the Cup outside, allowing many to see it up close, which Palamara described as an amazing experience.
