Brandon Clarke's Autopsy Reveals History of Drug Use

Brandon Clarke, a forward for the Memphis Grizzlies, died on May 11 from an accidental overdose involving heroin and cocaine, as detailed in a report from the L.A. County Medical Examiner.

Clarke's roommate informed police that the player had a history of drug use and had previously attended rehabilitation programs. His agent, unable to reach him, asked the roommate to check on him, leading to the discovery of Clarke unresponsive in his bedroom.

The medical examiner noted that the overdose was compounded by multiple prescription medications, including oxycodone and anti-anxiety drugs, which were found at therapeutic levels. Additionally, kratom was detected. Clarke had faced legal issues prior to his death, including felony charges related to drug trafficking. The Grizzlies expressed their sorrow over his passing, highlighting his contributions to the team and the Memphis community.
