Brandon Clarke's Death Classified as Accidental Overdose

Brandon Clarke, a forward for the Memphis Grizzlies, died from an accidental overdose of cocaine and heroin, according to a report from the L.A. County Medical Examiner released on Friday. Clarke was found unresponsive at his home in Southern California on May 11.

The medical examiner's report indicated that the combined effects of multiple prescription medications significantly contributed to his death. A complete autopsy report, which will detail the names of these medications, is expected to be released later.

Clarke, who was 29 years old, had played his entire NBA career with the Grizzlies, participating in 309 games over seven seasons. The team expressed their heartbreak over his loss, highlighting his impact both on the court and within the Memphis community. Clarke was also facing legal issues at the time of his death, including felony charges related to drug trafficking.
