Brandon Lowe Shines as Top Second Baseman for Pirates
Brandon Lowe, acquired by the Pittsburgh Pirates during the offseason, is currently leading all second basemen in several key offensive metrics.
This season, Lowe has recorded 27 home runs, 80 RBIs, and a .480 slugging percentage, while batting .253 with a .318 on-base percentage and a .798 OPS. His performance has been bolstered by a career-high pull-air percentage of 28.9%.
The Pirates secured Lowe at a favorable deal, retaining only $11.5 million of his salary for the season. Reports indicate that the team may offer him a two-year, $30 million contract this winter. Recently, Lowe hit a walk-off home run against the Detroit Tigers, contributing to a 4-3 victory and marking the Pirates' second consecutive series win.
