Braves Add Blake Burkhalter and Kyle Farmer to Roster
On September 1, the Atlanta Braves announced the selection of Blake Burkhalter and Kyle Farmer to their major league roster. To accommodate this move, right-handed pitcher Robert Suarez has been placed on the 60-day injured list due to ongoing elbow inflammation.
Burkhalter, a 25-year-old righty, is set to make his major league debut after a strong performance in the minors, where he recorded a 1.26 ERA in 35 2/3 innings since returning from injury. Farmer, 36, has been valued by the team despite limited playing time this season, having appeared in only 12 games due to a forearm strain.
With the roster expansion from 26 to 28 players, both Burkhalter and Farmer will join the team as the Braves look to bolster their bullpen and infield depth for the remainder of the season.
