Braves Add Danny Young to Roster, Designate Luke Williams
The Atlanta Braves have made changes to their 40-man roster by selecting left-handed pitcher Danny Young from Triple-A Gwinnett and designating infielder Luke Williams for assignment.
Danny Young, who was at risk of becoming a minor league free agent, will continue with the Braves after initially joining the team in August 2022. He had a challenging season, posting an 8.03 ERA over 12 1/3 innings in the major leagues, but showed promise in the minors with 13 scoreless innings last season. Young's performance included a notable increase in the velocity of his sinker and slider.
Luke Williams, who has been with the Braves since 2023, played only two games in the 2026 regular season and did not participate in the postseason. His major league stats include a .212 batting average with two home runs and 25 stolen bases over 350 plate appearances. He is expected to clear waivers and become a free agent.
