Braves Complete Sweep of Dodgers with Chris Sale's Complete Game
On Thursday, Chris Sale delivered a stellar performance, striking out 11 batters and leading the Atlanta Braves to a 1-0 victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers, completing a three-game sweep.
Sale, who improved his record to 13-9, allowed only five hits and issued no walks while throwing 109 pitches, marking his first complete game since June 5, 2019. The game's sole run came from Drake Baldwin, who hit a leadoff homer in the first inning.
The Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched effectively for 6 1/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits with eight strikeouts. This loss reduced Los Angeles' lead over the Braves for the No. 2 seed in the National League playoffs to just one game.
