Braves Designate Elieser Hernández for Assignment After Strong Performance
The Atlanta Braves secured a victory in Game 2 of their series against the Washington Nationals, thanks to a strong showing from their pitching staff. Bryce Elder delivered an outstanding performance, pitching six innings and allowing only one run, while Elieser Hernández closed the game with three innings of relief, also giving up one run and recording four strikeouts.
Despite this solid performance, the Braves announced that Hernández has been designated for assignment, making way for the recall of James Karinchak from Gwinnett. This marks the second time Hernández has faced this fate following a commendable outing, as the team seeks to maintain a fresh bullpen.
Hernández has pitched a total of six innings this season, achieving one win and one save in his two appearances. The Braves currently lead the Philadelphia Phillies by eight games in the NL East, and there is hope that Hernández will clear waivers and return to the major league roster.
