Outfielder Lane Thomas has been placed on the injured list by the Braves after suffering an intercostal strain during batting practice. DaShawn Keirsey Jr. has been recalled to fill his spot on the roster.

The Atlanta Braves have placed outfielder Lane Thomas on the injured list due to an intercostal strain. The injury occurred while he was taking batting practice before a game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Thomas was removed from the lineup and replaced by Brewer Hicklen. In response to his injury, the Braves have recalled DaShawn Keirsey Jr. to join the active roster. Thomas, who has struggled offensively with a .171 batting average and one home run in 21 games since joining the Braves, was acquired in a trade with the Kansas City Royals.

Previously, Thomas had a more productive season with the Royals, where he recorded a .232 batting average with 10 home runs. His defensive performance has varied, but he has primarily played corner outfield positions with the Braves. Mike Yastrzemski is expected to continue in left field against right-handed pitchers, while Mauricio Dubon may take on more responsibilities against left-handed pitching.
