Braves' President Discusses Free Agents and Rotation Needs
The Atlanta Braves, who were eliminated from the NLDS by the Dodgers, held a press conference where president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos discussed the team's future. Anthopoulos indicated that the Braves would engage with their free agents before the market opens after the World Series.
Among the players mentioned, Tyler Mahle and Mauricio Dubon received praise, with Anthopoulos expressing confidence in Dubon as a potential shortstop. Dubon, who played 153 games this season, had a batting average of .276 and hit 12 home runs. However, the Braves may need to explore additional options at shortstop, as both Dubon and Ha-Seong Kim are free agents, with Kim unlikely to be re-signed.
Anthopoulos also noted the need for pitching help, as the rotation faced injuries this season. He mentioned that rookie Didier Fuentes could be considered for a starting role in the future. Additionally, the future of outfielder Jurickson Profar remains uncertain after he faced multiple suspensions, which have impacted his availability and performance.
