Brent Peterson, Beloved NHL Figure, Passes Away at 68

Brent Peterson, a former NHL player, broadcaster, and coach, has died at the age of 68, according to an announcement from the Nashville Predators.

Peterson, who played 11 seasons in the NHL, was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2002 and founded the Peterson Foundation for Parkinson's in 2009. He began his NHL career with the Detroit Red Wings in 1979 and played for several teams, accumulating 72 goals and 141 assists over 620 games.

After retiring as a player, Peterson transitioned to coaching, serving as an assistant coach for the Hartford Whalers and later the Portland Winter Hawks. He joined the Nashville Predators as an assistant coach in 1998 and later became a radio broadcaster for the team. He is survived by his wife Tami and their two children.
