Brentford Signs Mamadou Sangare from Lens for Record Fee

Brentford has announced the signing of Mali midfielder Mamadou Sangare from Lens for a club record fee. The 24-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the option for an additional year.

While the exact transfer fee has not been disclosed, it is reported to exceed the previous record of £42.5 million paid for Dango Ouattara. Sangare played a pivotal role in Lens's successful season, helping the team secure a second-place finish in Ligue 1 and win the Coupe de France.

Brentford's head coach Keith Andrews expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, noting that Sangare had been closely monitored for some time. He highlighted the midfielder's consistent high-level performance and his importance to the Mali national team, where he has earned 16 caps.
