Brewers Fans Celebrate First World Series Title with Parade in Milwaukee
On Friday morning, Milwaukee was filled with Brewers fans celebrating the team's first World Series title. The parade followed the Brewers' 4-1 victory against the Tampa Bay Rays, which secured the championship in five games.
Milwaukee Public Schools canceled classes to allow fans to participate in the festivities, which included a parade through downtown ending at Henry Maier Festival Park. Many attendees arrived early to secure prime viewing spots along Wisconsin Avenue, retracing the route taken by the team in 1982 after their previous World Series appearance.
Generations of families attended the parade, sharing stories of their long-standing support for the team. Notably, several Brewers players were present at a Green Bay Packers game the night before, receiving a warm welcome from fans. The Brewers franchise, originally the Seattle Pilots, has a rich history, with Milwaukee previously celebrating a World Series win in 1957.
