Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski to Start World Series Opener Against Rays
Jacob Misiorowski is set to take the mound for the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 1 of the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays. The game is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. ET.
Misiorowski, who is a strong contender for the 2026 National League Cy Young Award, has had a stellar regular season with a 1.80 ERA and 252 strikeouts in 174.2 innings. However, his postseason performance has been less impressive, allowing two runs in four innings against the Padres and eight baserunners in 4.1 innings against the Dodgers.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy noted that Misiorowski has not been as sharp recently, but emphasized the importance of his health and mental state. The Rays will counter with Nick Martinez, who had a solid season with a 3.10 ERA. Martinez's experience and calm demeanor are expected to be key as the Rays look to capitalize on any weaknesses in Misiorowski's game.
