Brewers Place Abner Uribe on Injured List Due to Flexor Strain

The Milwaukee Brewers have placed setup man Abner Uribe on the 15-day injured list, effective retroactively from August 11, due to a flexor strain. Grant Anderson has been recalled from Triple-A Nashville to take his place in the bullpen.

This marks Uribe's first stint on the injured list since the end of the 2024 season. Last year, he recorded a 1.67 ERA over 75 1/3 innings and has maintained a strong performance this season with a 2.05 ERA across 48 1/3 innings. He has achieved six saves and leads the team with 18 holds.

Despite concerns regarding his forearm issue, Uribe has reassured that imaging results were clean and plans to take a few days off before resuming his throwing program. The Brewers currently hold a 3.5-game lead in the NL Central, but face competition from the Cubs, Braves, and Dodgers for playoff positioning. The bullpen remains strong, although the absence of Uribe puts pressure on other relief pitchers.
