Brewers Re-Sign Bryse Wilson After Roster Changes
The Milwaukee Brewers have announced the re-signing of right-handed pitcher Bryse Wilson on a major league contract. This decision comes after Wilson elected free agency, and the team designated Lyon Richardson for assignment to make room on both the active and 40-man rosters.
This move reverses a decision made just days earlier when the Brewers selected Richardson's minor league contract and designated Wilson for assignment. The change was not due to Wilson's performance, as he had pitched three innings the previous Friday, which limited his availability for the weekend.
Since joining the Brewers before the All-Star Break, Wilson has made six appearances, totaling 13 2/3 innings with a 3.29 ERA and ten strikeouts. He has had more success with Milwaukee than with any other team, boasting a 3.37 ERA over 93 games with the franchise. Meanwhile, Richardson, who made his Brewers debut recently, is also out of options and will likely clear waivers to pursue free agency.
