Brewers Sweep Dodgers to Reach World Series
The Milwaukee Brewers secured their place in the World Series by sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. This victory marks the Brewers' first trip to the World Series since 1982.
In the decisive game, the Dodgers initially took the lead with a four-run second inning, highlighted by a home run from Shohei Ohtani. However, the Brewers rallied, with Jake Bauers hitting a two-RBI double and Garrett Mitchell hitting a home run in the sixth inning, ultimately giving Milwaukee the lead.
The Dodgers, who aimed for a third consecutive World Series title, lost all four games in the series despite leading in each. Manager Dave Roberts acknowledged the team's shortcomings, stating they were outplayed. The Dodgers will retain most of their core players for the next season, but two-time champion Miguel Rojas announced his retirement.
