Brexton Busch Pays Tribute to Father Kyle by Driving No. 8 NASCAR Car
Brexton Busch, aged 11, honored his father Kyle by driving the No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday night. This event followed a Celebration of Life for Kyle Busch, where several notable figures, including Joe Gibbs and Austin Dillon, spoke in remembrance.
After a moving speech from Samantha Busch, Brexton took the wheel of the car his father drove to his first victory with Richard Childress Racing in 2023. He drove down the frontstretch and performed burnouts for the crowd, while his younger sister Lennix presented him with the checkered flag. Brexton saluted the audience with his father's signature bow as a drone show lit up the sky in tribute.
Kyle Busch, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 41 shortly after his last NASCAR Truck Series victory, was celebrated through numerous tributes in the NASCAR community. The tribute at Charlotte is considered one of the most poignant moments since his passing.
