Brian Cashman to Return as Yankees GM for 30th Season
Brian Cashman will continue as the general manager of the New York Yankees after the team confirmed a new contract for him, allowing him to serve for a 30th season in 2027.
Cashman, who is 59 years old, announced the agreement during a video news conference, although he did not disclose specific contract terms. His previous contract was set to expire this fall.
Since taking the position at the age of 31, Cashman has overseen a successful era for the Yankees, with the team never experiencing a losing season and winning four World Series titles. Despite recent frustrations among fans due to a lack of championships since 2009, owner Hal Steinbrenner expressed confidence in Cashman and manager Aaron Boone, highlighting the team's performance and playoff appearance this season.
