Briatore Predicts $10 Billion Valuation for F1 Teams
Flavio Briatore has stated that if the current trends in Formula 1 persist, certain teams may be valued at $10 billion. Briatore, who has a notable history in the sport, previously led the Benetton F1 team and is currently involved with Alpine.
He mentioned that the value of F1 teams has surged dramatically, citing a past valuation of $80 million for Benetton, which has now escalated to between $3.5 billion and $4 billion. Briatore indicated that financial experts are predicting further increases in team valuations over the next few years.
His remarks come amid Otro Capital's attempt to sell its 24% stake in Alpine, which was initially valued at €200 million in June 2023. Briatore believes the current valuation of Alpine is around $3 billion, despite skepticism from some quarters regarding the feasibility of such a sale without majority agreement from Renault.
