Brisbane Forward Will McLachlan Attracts Interest from Carlton and Essendon
Brisbane forward Will McLachlan is attracting attention from Carlton and Essendon after showcasing strong performances in the VFL, while having limited chances in the AFL.
Since joining the Lions in the 2024 Mid-Season Draft, McLachlan has participated in seven senior games, including one this season. His notable achievements in the reserves include scoring seven and eight goals in individual matches this year.
Brisbane coach Chris Fagan acknowledged the interest from rival clubs, explaining that the team has several players in similar positions, making it challenging for McLachlan to secure a spot in the lineup. He highlighted the depth of talent in the forward area, which includes players like Charlie Cameron and Kai Lohmann. McLachlan has scored 31 goals in 10 VFL games this season, following a total of 33 goals from 15 games last year.
