Brisbane Lions Coaching Candidate Withdraws from Consideration
Danny Daly, the Brisbane football boss, has decided not to pursue the senior coaching position as the Lions seek a replacement for Chris Fagan, who led the team to three premierships.
With Daly stepping back, assistant coach Cameron Bruce is now viewed as the primary candidate for the role. The club is also considering Nathan Buckley, who has previously played for the Bears and is looking to return to senior coaching after withdrawing from other coaching opportunities.
Fagan plans to move back to Melbourne to be closer to family after a decade in Queensland, with clubs like Carlton and Collingwood reportedly interested in his services for the 2027 season, given his past connections with their executives.
