Brisbane Lions Narrow Coaching Search for Fagan's Replacement
The Brisbane Lions are set to conduct formal presentations for three candidates as they search for a replacement for Chris Fagan.
Cameron Bruce, currently an assistant coach, is considered a leading contender and will present to the coaching panel, which includes AFL champion Leigh Matthews in an advisory role. The selection panel is chaired by Andrew Wellington and includes chief executive Sam Graham and footy boss Danny Daly, along with Lions champion Simon Black and club psychologist Matti Clements.
Other candidates include Nathan Buckley, a former Collingwood Grand Final coach and Geelong assistant, who has expressed interest in returning to senior coaching. The Lions have narrowed their list after Murray Davis and Danny Daly withdrew from consideration. The club aims to appoint a new coach by late October or early November.
