British Cycling to Implement Action Plan After Survey Reveals Concerns
British Cycling has announced plans to implement an action plan in response to a survey that described its World Class Programme as 'toxic'. The survey, funded by UK Sport and conducted by an independent firm earlier this year, revealed a decline in morale among riders and performance staff.
The survey results indicated that 'toxic' was one of the most common descriptors used by respondents. A spokesperson for British Cycling emphasized the importance of staff and rider wellbeing, noting that while many team members enjoy their roles, there is a clear demand for improvements.
In light of the findings, the GB Cycling Team is developing an action plan focused on leadership, development, feedback, and wellbeing. UK Sport has expressed support for these initiatives, highlighting the importance of a safe and healthy culture in sports.
