The couple married in June 2019 after meeting at Baylor University, where Griner played a key role in winning a national championship in 2012.</p><p>Cherelle, a lawyer, was vocal in advocating for Griner's release after her detention by Russian authorities in 2022 for possession of hash oil. The couple has a two-year-old son named Bash, born in July 2024.</p>
