Brock Bowers Injury Update: Raiders Expect Quick Return After Surgery
The Las Vegas Raiders are optimistic that Brock Bowers will miss only the season opener against the Miami Dolphins after undergoing a meniscus trim on Tuesday in Dallas. Reports indicate that the team sees a realistic chance for him to return in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Bowers was initially expected to be sidelined for one or two games following the surgery, which was necessitated by a tweak during training camp. The Raiders have officially ruled him out for the game at Allegiant Stadium but are monitoring his recovery closely this week.
This is not the first knee issue for Bowers, who previously dealt with a PCL sprain and a bone bruise last season. Despite these setbacks, he had a productive year with 64 catches for 680 yards and seven touchdowns. With Bowers unavailable, Michael Mayer will take on the primary tight end role against Miami, as the Raiders adjust their offensive strategy.
