Brock Lesnar's Retirement Planned for WWE SummerSlam 2026
Brock Lesnar has indicated his retirement from in-ring competition after his recent matches, including a loss to Oba Femi at WWE WrestleMania 42 and again at SummerSlam.
After his defeat at SummerSlam, Lesnar formally announced his retirement, which had been anticipated by WWE to coincide with the 2026 SummerSlam event. Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer noted that this retirement plan has been in place for some time.
Lesnar's retirement discussions began last December when John Cena suggested that Minnesota would be a fitting location for Lesnar to conclude his wrestling career. At SummerSlam, Lesnar faced Femi in a Hell in a Cell Match, where Femi emerged victorious, and Lesnar acknowledged him as the future of WWE.
