Brock Purdy Sets NFL Record for Highest Career Passer Rating
Brock Purdy has established a new record for the highest career passer rating in NFL history, achieving a rating of 105.6 as of Monday night.
To qualify for this record, a player must have thrown at least 1,500 passes, a milestone Purdy reached during the game. He has completed 1,038 of 1,524 passes for a total of 13,145 yards, with 98 touchdowns and 39 interceptions.
The previous record was held by Lamar Jackson, who had a passer rating of 102.7. Other notable quarterbacks include Aaron Rodgers at 101.8, Joe Burrow at 101.3, and Patrick Mahomes at 100.8. Purdy's lead in passer rating is significant, making it unlikely for others to surpass him unless he experiences a poor performance while those behind him excel.
Passer rating is calculated using a formula that considers completion percentage, yards per pass, touchdown percentage, and interception percentage, and has been the official statistic for ranking quarterbacks since 1973.
